Last week I was at a networking event listening to a guy tell the LONGEST, MOST BORING STORY IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.
I am telling you this was the never-ending story, but awful and mind-numbing and went on forever. As he was speaking everyone in our little group started to disengage–eyes glazed over, lolling head, shoulders slumped. Someone actually backed up slowly towards the bathroom in an effort to escape.
I couldn’t help but wonder:
Does this guy not realize he is boring us to death?!
The answer: No. He had no idea he was boring or that his story was too long or that people had disengaged. This inspired me to write a short and sweet post on:
Boredom Body Language:
Leaders, influencers and highly charismatic people know how to spot boredom in their audience or conversation partner. When you are interacting with someone you have to be on the look-out for disengagement so you can get them back.
Watch the video above to see the boredom body language signs in action!
